The historic Town of Moorefield {1777} will have a Community Christmas Tree this year.

It will be no ordinary tree, it will stand twenty feet tall and will be decorated with handmade ornaments made by the people in our community. Each ornament will have a tribute to someone or something in our community. It will be a gift and symbol of what is important to our community.

There will be a Christmas Tree Decorating Party on Friday, December 6th at 4:00 pm and a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday December 7th at 5:30 pm. Santa Claus will arrive by horse and carriage with elves following in a parade behind him. Santa will light the tree and declare this to be the beginning of the Christmas season.

Afterwards, there will be a reception at the recently restored Mullin Hotel {1847}. Earlier in the day, there will be a Christmas parade at 1:30 pm, activities at the park will follow the parade along with Santa being at the park for pictures. There will be horse and buggy rides through town too from 2p - 5p!! Santa’s North Pole Express train rides will begin at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
