The West Virginia Blues Society, Inc. is excited to announce the return of its rockin’ annual event, the 6th Annual Charlie West Blues Fest (CWBF), Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston, WV,  presented by Thornhill Automotive Group.

This free event, which has gained national attention throughout its five year history, will play host to some of the most talented and up-and-coming blues artists in the country and from around the world. The return of the legendary Ava Popovich as well as Davina and the Vagabonds will surely get you moving, and other highlighted artists include Kim Wilson & The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Magic Slim & The Teardrops and Mojo Theory, just to name a few.

The CWBF is an annual event dedicated to support wounded service members through the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)—a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Each year, tens of thousands of wounded warriors receive support through the WWP programs and services which include stress recovery programs, career and education services, adaptive sporting activities and retreats. Not only does each program and service provide warriors with the necessary components to survive their injuries but also to thrive and achieve both personal and professional success. Through nurturing, encouragement, empowerment and engagement, the WWP has helped thousands of our service men and women.

The Charlie West Blues Fest is a tribute to our military and their families. With an economic impact of more than $1M, crowds that exceed 30,000, and donations to the WWP of more than $10,000 per year, the CWBF is a win-win for everyone involved. Donations are always accepted and sponsorship packages are available for budgets of all sizes. If you would like to be part of this one-of-a-kind event and feel good about helping those who tirelessly fight for our personal safety and our country’s safety, please contact Jack Rice, President of the West Virginia Blues Society at (304) 389-1439, email, or visit for further information.
