The City of Charles Town will be celebrating its 225th birthday with a three day, event filled weekend.
Starting on Friday September 16th and running thru Sunday September 18th you will be able to enjoy the best that Charles Town has to offer.
Come and enjoy a living civil war history re-enactment at Jefferson Memorial park, an 1860's Secession Vote, walking history tours of the historic streets and homes, live local and regional music including the amazing Woodshedders.
Friday's activities will include history in the library, a tree planting and wreath laying on Charles Washington's grave in honor of the 225th Anniversary, theatre at the Opera House, and walking ghost tours in the evening.
Saturday's downtown street fest will include live music, vendors, the farmers market and walking tours. The evening will end with an ox roast in the park accompanied by live music and living civil war historians.
Sunday will feature horse parade, history tours and sidewalk sales featuring many of the downtown merchants.
There will plenty for the kids to do as well - with a petting zoo, scavenger hunt, games and more. Family friendly and history rich, Charles Town's Heritage Festival is a great way to spend the weekend.
Stop by for an hour, spend the day or stay the weekend. Make us a part of your West Virginia experience.
