Re-enactment of 1863 Civil War battle near White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Commonly known as the Battle of Dry Creek. All phases of warfare are portrayed, including cavalry attacks on infantry, artillery fire at both infantry units and enemy artillery, and infantry vs. infantry. Union and Confederate army camps will be open for public inspection Saturday afternoon and Sunday. A "live-fire" by cannons at pre-positioned targets will take place Saturday afternoon after a tactical battle that morning. Cavalry demonstrations that afternoon. School of the 'young soldier' for those under 13. Live Civil War music & dance Saturday night. Night firing of artillery that evening.
Main battle takes place Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Bleachers set up for the public. Free event for the public both days. Sutlers scheduled to sell Civil War era reproduction items to all. No parking fees.
Saturday - 10:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m.
Sunday - 12 noon to 3 p.m.
