Songer Whitewater is one of West Virginia’s leading outdoor adventure outfitters. Offering everything from family and high adventure rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, tent camping, rustic cabins and fully equipped deluxe cabins, we have an outdoor vacation option for you. We have over 100 acres to serve your group with modern amenities close to all of Southern West Virginia’s tourist attractions. We offer our adventures in the New River Gorge National River and the Gauley River National Recreation Area in Fayette County, home of the newly announced Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Camp, “The Summit: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.”
Open April through October, we offer outdoor adventure vacations during the summer season. Whether you have a family, scout, church or work group, there is a season and an adventure for you. Spring New River rafting brings high water for the thrill seekers in all of us. Summer on the New River is the best for families with children and grandparents. Fall serves up “America’s Best Whitewater” on the Gauley River, world renowned for action. As you can see, we do have something for everyone.
Songer is more than rafting. The New River Gorge Area is your perfect playground for other activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding and more. Our country roads are great for motorcycle enthusiasts. With great twisting curves and elevation changes and beautiful scenery, motorcyclists will enjoy some of America’s best riding. We are within 20 minutes of two beautiful state parks offering tram rides into the gorge and beautiful hiking trails.
On site amenities include wooded or open field camping for groups. Our rustic cabins have bedding and air conditioning for a pleasant camping experience. Two separate shower areas are available for campers. The deluxe cabins have a full kitchen, two bathrooms, hot tub, screen porches, linens, towels and sleep up to 10 people. An 18 hole disc golf course is a great way to walk the property while testing your skills.
Songer Whitewater has various specials throughout the season designed to save you money. Reservations are required for all trips and our staff is well versed in helping you plan an outdoor vacation with us. One call arranges all of your plans from rafting, lodging and outdoor activities. All major credit cards are accepted when making your reservation. Pets are welcome but need to be on leash. Please see our website for specific trips and rates for your group.
Songer Whitewater is located at 3069 Miller Ridge Road in Hico, WV, adjacent to US Rt. 19, 27 miles north of I-77 & 64, Exit 48, near Beckley, WV. We are approximately 8 miles north of Fayetteville, named one of “America’s Coolest Small Towns.”
