Berkeley Springs State Park was already a famous spa long before the first Europeans discovered the warm waters. Today, not a whirlpool or Jacuzzi, but 750 gallons of mineral water in a ceramic tile, is provided with walk-in private tub (may be shared with someone the same sex). Heated to a maximum water temperature of 102 degrees Fahrenheit, the Roman Bath is a tub big enough to stretch out in, to float, read or just relax. Or maybe you want to luxuriate in a Victorian-style bathtub with mineral water heated to a maximum temperature of 102 degrees Fahrenheit. You may enjoy 30 or 60 minutes of a Swedish-style, full-body, rub down with massage oil. Another choice would be use of the steam cabinets, which are heated to 124 degrees Fahrenheit and enclose the entire body. A variety of bed and breakfasts are within walking distance to round out a perfect WV spa getaway.

The Country Inn, Berkeley Springs

For sheer pampering pleasure, nothing beats The Country Inn's elegant Renaissance Spa.
