Display Cases



Five display cases are available for rent at the I-68 Welcome Center (Hazelton) WV/MD border.

Eight display cases are available for rent at the I-77 N & S Welcome Center (Williamstown) WV/OH border.

One display case is available for rent at the I-64 E Welcome Center (Huntington) WV/ KY border.

 


I-68 (Hazelton)

2 upright display cases that offer 5 shelves to rent (10 shelves total).

2 regular display cases that contain 2 shelves for rent (4 shelves total).

1 Hexagonal Display Case for rent.

Upright Tall Display Shelf Rental 36” x 12” x 20” and cost $500.00 per year.

I-77 N & S (Williamstown)

There are 8 regular display cases at I-77 for rent 2 shelves in each (16 total)

DISPLAY CASE GUIDELINES

The Division of Tourism provides equal access to all potential advertisers through the following venues:

Equal Access will be provided to potential advertisers for approval by Division of Highways:

  • Industry mailings will be sent to current contract holders notifying these holders of contract expiration.
  • Welcome Center Staff will contact local industries notifying them of Display Case Space availability.
  • The Display Case Rental information will be available on the Division of Tourism Web Site with a phone number listed for additional information.

Funds received from the advertising will be used for the West Virginia Welcome Centers.

  1. If you are interested in renting a Display Case Space, you must complete a Display Case Application and submit it to the appropriate address.
  2. Upon approval of your completed application by the appropriate Division of Tourism Representative, you will receive a contract which you must sign and return to the appropriate address with payment in full.
  3. After you are notified to do so, you may take items to the Welcome Center to be placed in the Display Case. Item guidelines are as follows:
    a. You may choose 2-3 items from your business to be placed in the Display Case. Please visit the Welcome Center Supervisor with your ideas. Please choose small to medium sized items, no more than 9’12” tall, of good taste that will represent your business first and foremost, but will also represent what West Virginia has to offer the traveling public.
    b. The items will only be on loan to the Welcome Center, they will remain your property.
    c. Please bring your items to the Welcome Center for approval by the Supervisor. Once approval has been given, the Supervisor or appropriate Division of Tourism Staff Member will assist you in placing your items on the appropriate shelf.
    d. We retain the right to reject an item if it is judged inappropriate. If you bring an item that is not suitable, you may replace it with another item.
    e. You may replace your items 2 times throughout the year. When it is time to replace items, if you chose to do so, you must follow the aforesaid guidelines for approval of each new item.
    f. You are responsible for bringing the appropriate stands for your items if they need to be upright (ie plates, pictures, etc.).
    g. Please do not place prices on your items. We are not allowed to sell any items in our Welcome Center. We will prepare a placard to be displayed with your items that will contain your business name, town and exit number. You may provide brochures and detailed directions to our staff, so that when asked, they can provide the correct information to the traveler.
    h. You will only have access to your items (for placement or removal) during the Welcome Center’s posted hours of operation. Please call ahead to schedule a time to make sure staff is available.
  4. The West Virginia Division of Tourism will make all possible efforts to protect your items from damage or theft. However, our employees will not be held responsible for accidents that may damage your items or for theft after operating hours. They will be in a locked display case.
  5. Your rental is based on a yearly contract. This contract will become effective April 1 and end March 31. You may change your items 2 times throughout the year, which will be during the last week of the following months: July and November. Please contact the Welcome Center Supervisor to determine exact dates.
  6. You may cancel your contract at any time, but, we do not provide refunds for any reason.
  7. At the end of the contract year, your contract expires and if you are interested in renting the space for another year, you must reapply.
