Both state and federal funds are provided for various state programs that foster and enhance economic growth and support community development in West Virginia.

Funding assists local governments, nonprofit organizations and various types of public and private entities with affordable infrastructure systems that improve the quality of life for West Virginia citizens.

Infrastructure projects may include, among others, provisions for a suitable living environment where conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community; programs that expand, build and improve a variety of public facilities and services; the development of high-quality, public outdoor recreational areas; and projects likely to foster and enhance economic growth, such as the development of business or industrial parks.
