March 17: Celtic Tenors, Carnegie Hall, Lewisburg 
With a polished international reputation and more than a million album sales under their belts, The Celtic Tenors offer something truly unique: the skill, range and ability of world-class tenors combined with the personality and fun of genuine performers.

March 20-21: Sisters Fest 2015, Sistersville 
Set in historic Sistersville, Sisters Fest provides an opportunity for sisters to enjoy a weekend together and celebrate sisterhood. No husbands, boyfriends, or brothers; no cooking, cleaning, or chores! Don’t have a sister? Bring a friend, mother or come alone and you will leave with more “sisters” than you could imagine!

March 20-22: George Washington’s Bathtub Celebration, Berkeley Springs 
Berkeley Springs celebrates its most unique historic site, George Washington’s Bathtub, with a weekend devoted to colonial food specials, dollar sales and local history. The tiny spa town highlights the country’s only outdoor monument to presidential bathing.

March 21: “A Bit of the Blarney” St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, Kingwood 
A St. Patrick’s Day celebration where everyone becomes Irish! Aurora Celtic, a popular Preston County band, will perform and accompany West Virginia University’s Irish Dance Club and an Irish Songs sing-along. An Irish buffet will also be available. Hours are 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

March 21: Festival of Nations, Millsop Community Center, Weirton 
The annual Festival of Nations celebrates “Unity in Diversity.” From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy ethnic music, food, dances, and history displays honoring cultures from around the world.

March 21-22: West Virginia Maple Syrup Festival, Pickens

It's maple sugaring time here in the mountains surrounding Pickens! Join us for a full weekend of activities (including pancakes, sausage, and maple syrup) celebrating this tradition each year on the third full weekend in March!

March 26-29: “Bullets and Steel, Clash at Scary Creek,” Hurricane

This event actually commemorates two engagements of the Civil War separated by a space of several years. This Civil War reenactment offers fun and activities for all ages including: lecture series with different authors each night, crafts, Ladies Tea, Civil War Ball and much more!

March 27-29 and April 3-4: Smoke on the Mountain, Coalfield Jamboree-Logan Theatre, Logan 
Southern Coalition for the ARTS presents “Smoke on the Mountain” at the Coalfield Jamboree at 7 p.m. March 27-28 and April 3-4; and at 2 p.m. March 29. It is a hilarious show set in the midst of a 1938 Saturday Night Gospel Sing gone charmingly awry at times.

March 27-29: 4th Annual Wheeling Polka Festival, Glessner Auditorium at Wilson Lodge, Oglebay Resort, Wheeling 
Activities include a kick-off party, Rise-N-Shine party, dance lessons, Palm Sunday Polka Mass and Polka, Polka, Polka! Lineup and schedule are subject to change.

March 28: 2nd Annual Cass Easter Egg Hunt, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, Cass

It’s a hoppin’ good time at the park for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Egg hunting is by age groups, with two special prize eggs per age group. Hunters should bring their own basket. 

March 28: Historic Arts Workshops—Waste Paper Basket and Turkey Hunting

Learn to make a Waste Paper Basket with locally acclaimed basket weaver Helen Efaw. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn the fundamentals of turkey hunting with Jack Bell, including equipment selection, hunting techniques, decoys, blinds, etc. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call or register online at

March 28: West Virginia Chocolate Festival, Ripley Elementary School, Ripley 
A parade, Easter egg hunt, chocolate vendors, and “Jackson County Youth Got Talent” show are part of this annual event in Ripley. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

March 29: 2015 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Statewide Anniversary Day 
The 82nd Anniversary Day Celebration and Commemoration of the signing of the CCC bill into law by President Franklin Roosevelt  will be held at the West Virginia State CCC Museum in Quiet Dell (Harrison County) beginning at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to display their CCC artifacts. Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
