Where are you from, where are you located now, and what are your ties to WV?
I’m from Rand, a small community about 7 miles west of Charleston. I have so many great memories growing up there. I’ve lived in West Virginia my whole life. We have such a beautiful state and such wonderful people here. I currently reside in Belle, a few miles from Rand.
What was your first job in film production and what was the experience like?
My first voiceover job was for a child welfare video. I was so excited, but just as nervous. I couldn’t tell you how many times I went over my finished project, making sure it was exactly the way the client wanted it. Landing your first job is the greatest feeling.
What was your last job and what were you responsible for?
The last job I did was a voiceover for a church. They wanted a voice to hype the church members up for an event they were hosting. It was a little more of a challenge because I had to bring a lot of emotion into it. The communication with the client was very good, and they worked with me on the specifics of the emotion they wanted to feel.
What advice would you give someone wanting to work in the film industry?
My advice for anyone wanting to break into acting is to always continue to practice your skill. Be patient. Never get discouraged after auditioning for something. There have been weeks or months that have gone by before I was offered a part.
