January 16, 1806:

The Virginia General Assembly passed an act incorporating the town of Wheeling, Ohio County. Wheeling was once West Virginia’s Capital City and is the home of many attractions, such as the Wheeling Jamboree, Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, and Oglebay Resort.
