CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today announced funding totaling $17,254.74 for an energy efficiency project in the Region Eight Planning and Development Council, which covers Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral and Pendleton counties. The project will be funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Mineral County Commission will receive the monies to install interior storm windows in the Mineral County Courthouse.
“Reducing energy use in city and county government facilities means energy cost savings,” Gov. Manchin said. “When we conserve energy it is a win-win, for our environment and for our taxpayers because the cost of our government is reduced.”
