CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today announced two projects totaling $229,110 for energy efficiency projects in the Eastern Panhandle Planning and Development Council, which covers Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties. The projects will be funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Reducing energy use in city and county government facilities means energy cost savings,” Gov. Manchin said. “When we conserve energy it is a win-win, for our environment and for our taxpayers because the cost of our government is reduced.”
• Morgan County Commission:
Project description: This EECBG grant will provide funding to install solar photovoltaic technology at the Morgan County Courthouse.
• Town of Bath
Project description: EECBG funding will assist in the rehabilitation of the former Berkeley Springs B&O Railroad Passenger Station building through installation of an energy efficient HVAC system and insulation.
