Fire Danger High in Eastern Panhandle

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Division of Forestry (DOF) in coordination with the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. This warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are present. Specifically, a combination of strong winds and low relative humidity is of the greatest concern. Everyone in the warning area should refrain from any type of outdoor burning until the Red Flag Warning expires.

This Red Flag Warning is in effect for the following counties: Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson, Hardy, eastern Grant and eastern Mineral counties.
