St. George Greek Festival



Huntington’s St. George Greek Festival brings a touch, and definitely a taste, of Greece to the Mountain State. “Our festival is something you can’t find anywhere else in West Virginia,” said festival Co-Chair Joanna Svingos-Smith. This three-day event is hosted by St. George Greek Orthodox Church and features dancing, music, and, of course, food. Whether you purchase a full dinner or dine a la carte, choices range from roasted lamb, moussaka and Greek pizza to baklava sundaes and chocolate swirls with honey syrup. Enjoy the European outdoor “taverna” atmosphere, while you sit and sip Greek beer, wine or Greek coffee – either hot or iced. Shop the gift store for genuine Greek items or take a tour of the beautifully ornate church.
