Ginseng Roots Must Be Weight Receipted by March 31
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Diggers and dealers of the perennial herb ginseng have less than one month to have all the roots in their possession weight receipted. After Wednesday, March 31, it is illegal to have any ginseng roots that have not been properly weight receipted by Division of Forestry personnel.

Spring Forest Fire Season Starts Monday, March 1, 2010
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Forestry officials say that starting Monday unless there is an inch or more of snow on the ground in your area you can’t burn anything outdoors from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 1 is the beginning of the spring forest fire season in West Virginia; the season runs through May 31.
