Mobile Advertising

In Spring 2011, Commerce launched a mobile campaign promoting the benefits of doing business in West Virginia.

The series of eight posters appeared inside Metro Rail subways and on buses in Washington, DC, during the month of June 2011. The eight ads feature individual QR tags, directing visitors online for more details and to view success stories of West Virginia businesses and entrepreneurs.

Hundreds of West Virginia posters were on subways and buses, plastering key Metro terminals. WV Commerce also ran a complementary geo-targeted SEO campaign on Google and ads in the Washington Post’s online and mobile properties. The campaign generated 4,100 pageviews of the new mobile site in one month – top keywords: “high tech” and “power.”
