ACP is a national mentoring program offering free career counseling and mentoring to service-members who have left the military after 2001 and who are looking to attain civilian jobs.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
WV ESGR is a Department of Defense sponsored all volunteer organization that advocates for employer support of National Guard and reserve service-members.  ESGR also provides informal mediated employment related issues for service-members through a trained team of Ombudsmen.

Hire Heroes USA
The nonprofit organization offers a number of free programs, which help veterans to switch from war life to the workforce.  The association also works with veterans during job search and placement. These services are also available to spouses of military members. HHUSA provides most of its services only to disabled or wounded veterans, and veterans who served in operations “Iraqi Freedom” and “Enduring Freedom.” The help comes in the form of workshops, mock interviews, veteran retreats, resume help and many other resources.

Military to Medicine
Military to Medicine is a national, non-profit military service organization of Inova Health System. It provides online healthcare training that leads to entry-level healthcare careers. For those who already have healthcare experience, Military to Medicine will provide access to a network of healthcare employers across the nation.

Military One Source
Education, relocation, parenting, stress - you name it - Military OneSource is here to help you with just about any need. Available by phone or online, our free service is provided by the Department of Defense for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members and their families. The service is completely private and confidential, with few exceptions.

Information for your daily life, better tools, and easier access to all the valuable resources and services you deserve as a member of the National Guard community. Site contains Guard related news and information about scheduled Yellow Ribbon events.

Troops to Teachers
Troops to Teachers is a U.S. Department of Education and Department of Defense program that helps eligible military personnel begin a new career as teachers in public schools where their skills, knowledge and experience are most needed.

VA for Vets
VA for Vets is a US Department of Veterans Affairs site that was created to provide our nation’s veterans with the tools necessary to translate their military skills to civilian skills, speak to career coaches, and assist with building their resume. They are also able to tap into a wealth of information on reintegration into civilian life. We provide veterans with a career buddy, similar to the battle buddy they were familiar with from their time in the military, to help them through the transitional maze. All of these tools are provided at no charge to our heroes.

West Virginia WorkForce can help you find the right job for you.  Local offices throughout the state provide offer one-on-one assistance, as well as the largest database of jobs in the state that allow you to screen employment opportunities online. Help with training or education to prepare you for a new or upgraded position is also available.
