For these US military veterans-specific programs, members must be in good physical condition and willing and able to live and work in all weather conditions. All tools and camping gear will be provided with the exception of personal items. In addition to transportation to and from the internship locations members will receive a weekly living allowance and be eligible for an AmeriCorps education award. A DD Form 214 is required as evidence of an Honorable discharge or General under Honorable conditions on a case by case basis.

Troops to Teachers Program now offers increased eligibility for career counseling, job placement assistance and financial assistance. Registered program members interested in receiving up to $10,000 of financial assistance must also meet the educational and time in service requirements listed on the attached eligibility criteria file.
