The West Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a statewide network that provides essential information for successfully starting, expanding and growing a business. SBDC programs are designed to provide high-quality business and economic development assistance to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement.
With multiple centers statewide, SBDC provides no-cost, strategic one-on-one business coaching. The SBDC’s efforts align with expanded capital access efforts that are being offered throughout the state. The technical assistance provided by an SBDC business coach is critical to help companies be aware of and prepare for capital access opportunities.
Business coaches have professional certificates in exporting, innovation, technology, economic development, finance, management, marketing and entrepreneurship. SBDC helps companies increase skills to implement successful business practices and strategies.
The SBDC also provides targeted training workshops at little or no cost and serves as connectors for the many various training opportunities available throughout West Virginia.
The SBDC is an accredited member of America’s SBDC network.
A division of the West Virginia Development Office, the SBDC is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
