January brings a new season of trout stocking in West Virginia.  With its year-round fishing season, including an open season for trout, more than 20,000 miles of streams and more than 100 public fishing lakes, West Virginia provides anglers with a variety of fishing opportunities and experiences.

Hunting Season
Hunting Season
Hunting is a tradition in the Mountain State.  West Virginia offers a wide variety of seasons, including those for archery, firearms and muzzleloaders.  Of course, the two-week buck season always begins the Monday before Thanksgiving, providing an opportunity for family-style hunting during a time when many former residents return home for the holiday.
