FIELD TRIP of the Month

Maple Syrup Farm
You’ve heard of maple syrup, maple sugar, maple candy, but how about maple cream? It’s a special treat you can have at Richter's Maplehouse in Pickens. While you’re there, check out the 150-gallon wood-burning sap evaporator (say that 3 times fast!), the bottling room, bucket-hung trees, and miles of tubing lines. Celebrate the sweet stuff during the farm’s Maple Syrup Festival March 21 and 22.
